Updates
Latest figures from the programme
The COVID vaccination Autumn programme is continuing at pace within SSOT.
- 298,535 Autumn booster vaccinations and 5,373 primary vaccinations have been given since September
- Currently 584,464 registered patients within SSOT eligible for a COVID Autumn booster – 50.3% of these have received their vaccination
- SSOT is doing favourably against national and regional uptakes.
Vaccination in pregnancy
As per guidance from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), women who are pregnant and breastfeeding continue to be offered the COVID-19 autumn booster vaccine to reduce the risk of serious complication from the virus. Over 250,000 women in the UK have been vaccinated before giving birth.
As of the 1st November, the UK Health Security Agency updated the guidance on the COVID-19 vaccine for women who are breastfeeding. The advice stay’s the same, that there is no evidence of harm to the baby and the recommendation is still that COVID-19 vaccines can be received whilst breastfeeding.
